Managing Attorney
George L. Bischof

George studied philosophy at Amherst College, graduating in 1989 with a B.A., cum laude. During a year internship in Amherst's Public Affairs Office as the College's Sports Information Director, he applied and was accepted to Yale Law School.

While at Yale, his activities outside the classroom included Barrister’s Union, Moot Court, and the Journal of Law and Feminism; he also took Gross Anatomy at the medical school and did get-out-the-vote work for various political campaigns. He received his J.D. in 1993.

After graduation, George obtained his LL.M. (in Taxation) at NYU School of Law while working in the tax department at Gordon, Altman, Butowsky, Weitzen, Shalov & Wein, where he remained on a full-time basis following graduation. After working at LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae on tax issues specific to the insurance industry, he returned to a general federal practice at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, where he advised a mix of individual, partnership, tax-exempt, and corporate clients on federal and state tax issues.

In 2000, George moved to the New York office of Australia’s Macquarie Bank Limited, where he developed and marketed cross-border structured finance products. He and a colleague then led the expansion of the bank’s cross-border leasing practice into the U.S. lessee market; they were then recruited in 2003 to Global Capital Finance, a lease advisory boutique, to expand their practice into the U.S. George returned to the practice of law in 2005.

Associate Attorney
Amy Kawa Posner

Amy Kawa Posner, Esq. is an Associate Attorney with Bischof & Bischof LLP, where she focuses her practice on wills, trusts, and estates. She has significant experience in both litigation and transactional work, spanning a broad range of practice areas including estate planning, real estate, landlord/tenant, family law, nonprofit and general business law. Prior to joining Bischof & Bischof, Amy was the founder and managing attorney of OpusLegal, a virtual law office for the arts, where she provided accessible, affordable and compassionate legal services to artists and arts organizations throughout New York State. 

In addition to her legal experience, Amy has a background in the arts, stemming from her roots as a Juilliard-trained classical pianist. After working for several years in the financial services industry, Amy earned a master’s degree in arts administration at Boston University. During her studies, she developed an academic interest in arts policy and the legal issues affecting arts organizations. As a result, Amy attended law school as a Chancellor’s Scholar at Syracuse University. 

Amy is dedicated to helping people achieve their estate planning goals so that they and their loved ones have peace of mind. To that end, Amy listens and communicates with empathy, provides thoughtful and knowledgeable advice, and drafts documents with clear and concise language. Along with practicing law, Amy is an Adjunct Artist in Music at Vassar College, where she teaches piano. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and two stepchildren.

Business Development Specialist
Nicholas Sorice

Nicholas Sorice is the firm’s Business Development Specialist. Hailing from Middletown, New York, Nic joined the firm after graduating from Mercy College with a B.S. in International Relations and Diplomacy. While attending Mercy he completed a nine-month internship with the United Nations’ Department of Global Communication.

Nicholas was the head of Mercy College’s Model United Nations Delegation. While he enjoyed spending time in the world of multi-national organizations. coming out of undergraduate, he was looking for a chance to engage with people in a way that directly improved their lives, and that’s how he ended up here.

A lifelong “do-gooder,” nothing makes Nicholas happier than assisting others accomplish their goals. As a member of the Bischof & Bischof team, Nicholas is here to help potential clients understand what Estate Planning entails. When Nicholas isn’t working on helping busy people juggle their schedules, he enjoys going to the movies, listening to podcasts, and walking through Central Park with his partner and dog.

Client Service Specialist
Benson Clements

Benson graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2019, with a Bachelor of Art’s degree in philosophy and political science. While at the University of South Carolina he interned in multiple public offices including a Congressional Office and the Office of the Attorney General of South Carolina.

Benson Clements is the Client Service Specialist at Bischof and Bischof LLP. He was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, living mere steps away from Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Tournament.

He is dedicated to using his skills and experiences to improve and enhance the lives of others. As the firms Client Service Specialist, Benson prides himself on ensuring that every client has a seamless and fruitful experience putting plans in place to provide for and protect loved ones, regardless of family structure or balance sheet. Benson is keenly aware that each client’s objectives are uniquely different and that the path to “ink on paper” is not always a straight line. He works intimately with each client, and their sometimes-demanding schedule, to capture their needs and final wishes in a thoughtful and effective estate plan. He sees each engagement as an opportunity to establish and foster a meaningful relationship that will help families and their loved ones for years to come.

Outside of work Benson enjoys the occasional round of golf, a good presidential biography, and traveling the globe. He most recently spent a few months exploring the vast landscape and culture of Peru.
